Annual Costume Party    October 2008

Our annual Costume Party was held in October again this year.  We shut down at lunch time for pizza and costume judging.  Costume winners included day shift  winners; Cheryl dressed as a "pig-out" pig and a table, Martha as "Minnie Mouse" and Katie dressed as "Darryl", her dad who works as a maintenance millwright.  Night shift winners were; Matt as a really good "police officer," Kristen as "Kristen" and Marcy as a "pirate."  There were also prizes for pumpkin carving.  Our owners, Dave and Jan Aho made everyone laugh when Jan confronted Dave with some costume teeth and glasses and Dave took the opportunity to give her a big loving kiss.  The party was a lot of fun and our H.R. dept. did a wonderful job!

 Our 11th Annual Corn Feed took place in September.  Many volunteers helped with the preparation of this annual end-of-Summer event.  Our H.R. Department supplied the fresh local corn on the cob along with hot dogs and hamburgers.  Employees pitched in to help prepare the corn and food, set up tables and get the grills going.  The weather cooperated and employees shared a nice lunch together outdoors.  Several employees were given awards for their many years of service to Indepak.  A special thanks to the many volunteers for helping and to our H.R. Dept. for coordinating the event.

Our annual Employee Picnic was held on Thursday, June 19th at Blue Lake Park.  This year, families were invited and everyone enjoyed a nice barbeque lunch.  The weather was perfect for the many activities planned.  Several long-term employees were honored and there was a nice gift raffle.  It lasted into the evening where there was national wakeboarding competition on the lake.  Our H.R. department coordinated this special family event and we all thank the Aho family for their generosity !

 Our annual employee appreciation breakfast was held on Thursday, May 22nd for everyone to enjoy during their morning break.  This year, our H.R. Dept. and helpers cooked a very good outdoor breakfast for us.  It was another nice break together during our hectic work week and a time for everyone to enjoy a special morning meal.

The event is our owners way of saying thank you to employees for their hard work, dedication, and teamwork.

 Dave and Jan Aho invited their employees and a guest to have dinner with them at Lakeside Gardens in Portland in appreciation for another year of dedication and hard work.  It was a time for socializing and sharing a great meal together.  This is the employees favorite event of the year.

There was a re-cap of the highlights of the year by our general manager, Chris Aho along with his appreciation for everyone's hard work and determination.  This was an opportunity for everyone to spend time together and recognize the many blessings we have and share together in our workplace.  Thank you Jan and Dave!
